Going to build a 9", need some advice.
Hey guys. I broke my third gearset in the 10-bolt, and I am sick of it. I have the stock diff back in now (had an extra diff), and one 10-bolt (for brackets and all that). I am going to buy a 9" housing and get a guy to narrow it, transfer all the brackets and make a tq. arm mount bracket. I am not sure what I am going to do for my brakes (I want to keep the stock discs). I will need to get custom axels for the length I need and boltpattern, so I am sure the rotors will fit fine. But I will need to get him to make me some kind of a caliper mounting bracket. Anyone ever done that? Also, is there a website or does anyone know where I can look up some custom 9" fabrications for an F-body and/or get all the measurements I need. Thanks guys.
My buddy had this done last year but I don't recall everything he had to buy.
I'll try and remember to give him a call and get a list of all the stuff he bought to make it all happen.
I think he only spent $1200 or $1300 on the setup. (Friend of a friend hooked him up)

I see. I figure it would be about that much. I mean, with the housing cost (new or used core), 4.33 gears!
, new posi, new axels, new bearings, etc. I just need to get it done, that way I can launch on ET streets all day long.
