god hates me

alright one of the holes on the crank hub is stripped, so the crows foot wont pull straight, thus the hub wont come off. what are my options for getting this pos off?

Re: god hates me

Put a bolt through the hole and then do a nut on the bolt on the backside of the hub.

the thing is that the bolt wont go in straight, it will go in, but its crooked for some reason.

Chris meant for you to put a bolt through the hole that is smaller than what you are using, and put a nut on the other side of it to keep the bolt from pulling through- since you will be using a smaller bolt and it won't actually "thread" into the crank hub. My puller doesn't have the correct size bolts to bolt into my hub, so I have to use the small bolt+nut method every time.

Buy a new car.

Really though, drill it and tap it out and put an oversize bolt in there. If the threads aren't too bad, maybe you can clean them up with a tap without having to drill it out.

colossus and '86 350, God told me that he would prefer that you not put words into his mouth. In fact He said that about people in general. But the fact is, yeah, He doesn't really think too highly of colossus.

Re: god hates me

Use a smaller diameter bolt with a nut behind the hub spoke.

Re: god hates me

Haha, thats nothing. Last week I tried to pull the hub off using a puller and an extenstion. I lodged the extension in the crank hub. So I had to buy a new hub, crank gear and timing chain cover. Now, that, SUCKS.
And I STILL cant get it out!

Re: god hates me

Oh how could I forget, the car was sold to me with a normal title and now I get a letter from the DMV saying there has been a mess up and it was a salvage. So now I have to spend 100 dollars to get it inspected so I can get a registration when mine runs out, they luckily have let me keep the one I have now.
