Go steeper than 4.10's?
People seem to go nuts over the 4.10's, but complain that they fall off up top since you run out of gear and have to go into 5th, so why not make it so 5th is like 4th in a 3.42 car by going to 4.56's? Have, and even more so, the pep of the 4.10 's. Now im speaking concerning MY car, which is totally street driven, highway or dragstrip is not an issue, i dont ever even launch the car from a stop as it is so I dont think Ill have to worry about breaking the rear end from anything but banging gears since I do have OK traction with the 245 nittos even cold, I never warm them up. Just wondering if there is anything wrong with my take on this??

Oh....sorry....you'll also have to think how short 1st and 2nd gear is going to be. Why shift into 2nd after 20ft if you don't have to?
IMO 4.56's would be WAYYYYYY too steep. But hey...it's your car, do with it what you like. You may end up liking steeper gears better...who knows?

I'd say forget that, dude! Unless you have an engine with powerband from 7000 to 9000 and very-very narrow torque curve, you will lose time in your ET, you'll have no traction and gas milage at all.
Some people think the bigger the better. That's LT1's have a rather broad torque curve, so with a good rear gear (let's say 3.73) you can actually pull LONGER and there's one shift less than with 4.56's. Think about that.
