Because they like money? Especially for not doing almost anything....

Ripoff and nothing else IMO. I've seen one of those "GMS" updated Z06 mafs.... It looked like it was ported with a dremel in a rush and the center plastic things that protect the sensors, literally broken off. (they decided not to spend more time on making it look nice)

I hope they can't sleep at night for ripping people off like that....

The more expensive one is probably programmed so it can used in LT1 F-bodys while the regular MAF may be an OEM replacement for the Z06 itself...

DING DING DING we have a winner!!!

A Factory Z06 85mm MAF costs $85 from GM Parts direct. The downside is that you will need a new pigtail and a way to re-program your MAF Flow Vs Frequency curve.

The LS1 Speed.com, or GMS (I'm assuming) MAFs are atleast 2x the GM price is because they modify the internals of the MAF somehow to output factory LT1 MAF frequencies.

Yep yep! The new pigtail and calibrated sensor is what makes the difference. If anyone is looking, drop me a line and I'll work on getting you a GMAF at a great price.

If anyone already has LT1 edit, I have the Flow/Freq curve you'll need for the GM Z06 MAF. I got my pigtail from Ramchargers for ~$20.

Did you see any performance out of it?

*shrugs* not an extremely noticable one, not like headers or anything like that. I replaced mine because my stock one failed. I didn't feel like spending a few hundred on a replacement when this one cost my $106 including the other pigtail.

It was easy for me to mount it in my car because of the WS6 intake setup, I used 1/2 of a Fernco coupler to mount it to my Airbox, and a full Fernco piece to attach it to my TB. It worked and looks mint.

The only issue that I kinda see with a "normal" LT1 intake setup would be the diameter of the filter end. The 85mm MAF has a 4" diameter end on the air-filter side, and a 3.5" diameter on the TB end. I was able to adapt to it, but I don't know what size tubing a normal CAI has. One more thing to think about with this piece.

The Performance gains are about the same across the board with all aftermarket/non-stock MAFs I believe. This is a good option for one that needs replacing, but as a performance "Mod" it's maybe worth 10hp MAX, if that.

Do you have any pics of yours installed?

I bought the GM one, because I don't feel like waiting for my car to die because of the f'in MAF of all things.

I have PCMFORLESS unlimited tuning, so hopefully Bryan has those tables.

I still have to get the cable adapter however... I am gonna order that right now...

EDIT: Isn't there a AC/DELCO part # for that pigtail connector ?
If so, does anyone know what it is ?

I don't know if there is a GM part number, but if you call Kevin @ Ramchargers and tell him what you need he'll send it out right away, I got mine from him.

PCMforLess should have the tables, I know Ed Wright does.

Whats a fernco adapter? I have this MAF and the ws6 ram air style box and I just stretched the black cold air tube over it. But I believe it is not sealed real good. I am getting some surging. I felt a difference with mine but not a abig difference. Maybe a little more responsive if anything.

I'm gonna dyno mine in March (well actually the maf and 52mm BBK TB). I am hoping to see 15rwhp between the 2.

LS1 Speed.com sells the GMS ZO6 MAF for 149.99, and mine was unported and even had a screen on it.
