gmpartsdirect sucks

this is honestly ridiculous. i ordered a "steam" pipe from them on the 20th, and they say that i wont be recieving it untill the 6TH!!!!!!!! GOD DAM***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS 17 [edit] DAYS TO SHIP A PIPE!!!! i see no reason it should take this long unless they have to actually build the truck that they are shipping my pipe in within these 17 days. this will be the last time i EVER order from them again. and im done ranting now

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

Uh dude, some of the parts they offer are special ordered which means it's backordered until they get it. Actually most of the LT1 parts are special order and take longer than usual. It happens.

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

Same thing happened when I ordered guideplates. After I paid, it said special ordered. It should show you if they have the parts in stock before you order. When I was waiting for my stuff, I emailed them and let them know I would have purchased elsewhere if I had known they didn't have my parts in stock.

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

It's always told me items were special ordered. There is always an asterik right next to something to show it.

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

I've heard from other people that gmpartsdirect are not the quickest organization in shipping things.

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

I usually got my stuff next day if not the day after.. i'm in va though, just above them in NC. Only had a dash top take forever b/c it was special ordered, but I lived with it b/c they beat anyone elses price by 10 bucks even after adding in shipping.

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

I have ordered from them several times and I've never had a problem. At least they confirm their orders. I order stuff from another place for my VW, and they don't confirm their orders (but I usually get the stuff 2nd day!)

Maybe you need to develop a Star Trek transporter device?

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

If you want it cheap then GMPartsdirect it is. If you want it fast, go to a local dealer and have them order it. I needed crush washers for my coolant crossover pipe fast and no one in town had anything close. The local GM dealer had them for me the next morning, for $27.

Re: gmpartsdirect sucks

U do know that those "crush washers" are really nothing more then a drain plug gasket right? I had the same problem when I put my motor back in. I went to my local Advance Auto Parts and got them for like $1 a peice. They have worked great for me.

I don't think so. They are metal with a built in rubberwasher on the inside. They aren't crush washers. You might be able to get some Brass crush washers for a brake set up and get them to work, but i'd rather have the GM stuff.
