Thumbs up

I'm so glad someone finally made a sound/video clip of this system on a stock LT1 F-body.

Sounds really nice. Actually sounds kinda similar to my Z with the GMMG on a coldstart, but only a little better.

But yeah, if you have the time soon, please make another video of this exhaust at idle and with a few revs after your car is fully-warmed up(I'd really, really like to hear it this way). An acceleration clip would be cool too if possible.

Nice car man,

Mike

Basically what this system is, is a 3" I-pipe and a rear section over the axel. The rear section is two chambered mufflers welded together with exit pipes attached. When you recieve the system it only has two pieces... the rear section is completely welded by GMMG. All that needs welding is the I-pipe to the rear section and the I-pipe to the y-pipe.

This system is all stainless (part of the big price)

Chambered mufflers are pipes with little pinches in them basically.. I hope this answers your questions.

sweet-thunder.com sells the same chambered pipes for $66 each.........so two will cost ya $132

im sure it doesnt cost $527 to have the rest of the exhaust welded up at your local custom shop.
Hmm ... i wonder what those would sound like....

Not quite..........GMMG uses chambers totally different than sweet thunders. Go ahead and look at the most recent GMMG thread, someone with the same attitude contacted them and got the whole story as to what they use. If you've heard the sweet thunder vs the GMMG you'd see this. The sweet thunder doesnt sound as deep, plus it rasps up top, which the GMMG does not. About the only similarity is that it doesnt really drone. The closest SS 3 inch chambers sweet thunder sells are over $100 anyways, 66 is for smaller, aluminized ones. 3 inch SS pipe can be pricey, plus a good amount of welding goes into it. Yes, it doesn't cost them $700, but I bet that every exhaust out there doesn't cost them what they sell it for. I bet it costs them 1/2 the amount..........When I get my heads/cam in ill post sound and or video.

Well, I was the one who contacted GMMG on the phone and Ron told me that everything was "made in house" from basically raw stainless steel. The whole catback and mufflers was designed and fined tuned for sound and performance by the owner.

Yea no kidding, I used to drvie slow occasionally, now after GMMG its a thing of the past.

Hey I got a question for you? This is one I think is hard for us GMMG guys. What headers are you thinking of running. I say its hard b/c we usually have to keep the cat or cats b/c how loud it gets. I am thinking Mac or AS&M. Only thing is Mac might choke a 224/230 cam...?!?

-Dustin-

PS I think I may start a thread on that..^
