GM847 Cam Guys Inside

Car is running pretty well considering my tune is for a CC305 cam. Idle is slightly unstable, it seems to be OK after it's running for a while, but it will stall on me when I first start it up. Anyways last night I got a SES light and I'm throwing DTC code 015 and 033.

015 is Engine Coolant Temperature (Low Temperature Indicated)
033 is MAP Sensor Circuit Signal Voltage High (Low Vacuum)

I haven't driven the car very much since I installed the cam, but it didn't throw the codes until the second day of driving it. I also installed a double roller timing chain and electric water pump. I have 160* thermostat, should I consider changing to a higher temp version with an electric pump.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Well, I'm not sure about the coolant DTC, but as for the Map Voltage High DTC, that could be stemming directly from the cam. That cam is fairly large and without the proper tuning I believe that it's not going to pull a whole lot of vacuum. May want to try getting a tune on it first.

Well so far visual inspection has revealed that the temperature sensor on the WP broke. Connector just cracked right off.

I don't imagine that the GM847 is going to pull more than 11-12 pounds of vaccum with a good tune so thats probably the problem that you are having there and it looks like you already corrected the other problem. A good tune should help out.

Thanks for the reply guys. Just FYI, replacing the ECT Sensor fixed the other problem as well. Don't exactly see why they're related but apparently having one completely open caused the other sensor to throw a code as well.

The cam alone is not responsible for that code. Check all vacuum connections.
