gm guideplates, pro mag NSA rockers.... why is is clacking and rubbing??

i have the gm guideplates PN 14011051. i have chromoly pushrods and pro mag 1.6 rr's with 7/16 srud and NSA. the valve are adjusted correctly, and my rockers are sitting at a slight angle. if you start the car, the pushrods smack loudly back forth in the guideplates, leaving pretty good rubbing wear on the pushrods. it's obviously not right. my rockers are making a pretty good pattern on the top of the valve indicating that they are correct, or very close to correct length. i want to know how to fix this?? my guideplates have "05" and a "P" stamped on them so they are the right ones. the side that says "down" is, in fact, down. any ideas? it seems to be putting the rockers at a bit of an angle.

Only solution is the Isky Adjustable guideplates which are around $40 a set, problem is you have to install them the right way, which seems like it would be easy but I have seen it done wrong a few times.

Would bent push rods cause this?

Have you checked or replaced them?

well, on second look, the rockers are'nt really at much of an angle, but the clacking is still there. do i have a bad set of gm guideplates? i'm really tempted to switch to self aligning because of this mess. will self aligning do their job to 6800?

are the lifters all the way pumped up, as in oil coming out of the top of the pushrods?

is the big roller bearing in the body of the rocker supposed to be able to move back and forth. (the roller that goes around the rocker stud and has clips on each side). mine have enough play to move back and forth some on that roller. this a problem?

yes, oil comes out opf the pushrods, and i don't think i'd be bending any chromoly pushrods at idle with beehive springs.

Yes it can move from side to side and piviot around the stud. When running they may move side to side but that isn't a problem as long as they stay on the stem.

Sounds like the valves are not adjusted right. They can move back and forth and a little doesn't hurt as long as they stay on the stem.
