Question Ghetto Ram Air.

http://www.charm.net/~mchaney/ramair/ramair.htm

Looks kind of cool and it is cheap (most important thing of all) but what about getting water up in the engine?

Yah..... it seem's pretty cool. I made one in metal shop at school the other day, pretty simple. I have yet to install it, i am just kinda hesitant, becasue of the fact that water can get in there. any one running this? I am curious too. ( i was kinda thinking of making a cover for it when it rain's, but it might look tacky?)

IT APPEARS YOU CAN PUSH IT UP TO CLOSE IT, WHEN IT RAINS

you can build it so you can push it up if you want...I had one on my car in Nebraska middle of winter with Snow all over the place - no problems here.

I made one of those for my old v6 and it ran fine, even in the rain.

With the z I don't even have the plastic shroud. But I only drive it in the rain when I have too. No problems yet.

I did this using heating duct work. I thought it turned out pretty well, and was the perfect compliment to my CAI, which hangs higher in the engine bay. (I didn't want a low hanging CAI due to moisture concerns).

heh. Forgot the link.

That is the best looking one I've seen yet. I may actually do that one.
