This is getting old..

Ok, if I stop suddenly my car dies. Any ideas?? When I slow to a stop at stoplights it drops rpm and catches itself..but if you suddenly stop hard.it just kills. The oil pressure gauge also likes to drop under hard braking as well. I have been told the pickup falls off and that causes the issue..but the only time I have issues is under emergency stop type situations.

2nd thing is a chattering in the valvetrain with high rpm. The higher the rpm the worse it gets. I check for bent pushrods, etc cant find anything. Noise is gone at idle. only above 3,000rpm.

The car died suddenly and the noise started simultaneously.. I was following a slow moving ricer holding the RPMs about 3K waiting to pass him..but he never moved..so I shifted into 2nd and when I got to the stoplight the car died. Its been acting up ever since.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Stock Rockers, pushrods, lifters, etc
Stock tune, stock rev limiter, shiftpoints, etc.. Its not like im revving it very high.

As far as the stalling out problem at lights I would recommend that you first try adjusting the idle screw on throttle body. You might not be getting enough air in at idle, mine did that and I just screwed it open a little and it was fine. (The screw opens the butterflies). You could have a totally different problem but its worth a try.

That is definetly your IAC valve or your Speed sensor is shot going to the PCM. Do you get a speedo readout properly? If so I'd look at your IAC valve.

that could be your stalling issue.

Re: This is getting old..

Most definately not. The car ran perfect for the first thousand miles..don't see why it would just start now. I saw a few metal shavings.. noise is more like ball bearings in the intake...

I traded the car on saturday and picked up an 05 G6, so I won't be tearing down the motor again and spending 1200+ on a rebuild. Too much time and effort down the drain, no garage to do it in, I still pay 300 a month on it, I can't keep doing this.

Cheers.
