Talking getting my first z28

well as the title states, i will be getting my first z28. it is a 1996 all black with t-tops and it is an auto.......and it also only has 45,000 miles and was stored for Michigan winters. i know the previous owner and know that it has never been ragged on. he is going to be calling me to tell me what he wants but i was wondering what you thought would be a good/fair price ?

also i figured just to start i would tint the windows and get a deep muffler....any suggestions here (while keeping it down on price) ? i was looking at either the flowmaster or the dynomax.....???

any and all help is welcome, thanks
Patrick

welcome to the institution. Hooker catback seems to be a favorite here. It is mine anyway.

Mobil one and a tranny cooler will be your Gods. Feel free to ask any questions around here. We really follow the whole "the only stupid question is the one not asked" mentality.
enjoy your stay. Check out the lounge Thats where all the special people stay

94, in pretty good condition, somewhere around 7-8 grand. If he says 9k+ I wouldn't take it.

Kelly Blue Book says $6175. FYI.

Edit: Thunder Racing has tons of F-Body parts, plus they've got top notch customer service. www.thunderracing.com They'll hook you up with the exhaust your looking for.

thanks...i'll be looking into the hookers first thing. where did you get yours? where would you reccommend i look to make the purchase? also the hookers appear to be stock from the rear correct? because i have no idea....also are the hookers pretty loud?

it is a 96 and it looks brand new in and out.....a real beauty. i have know the owner since he got it with 5,000 miles on it and he is about 45-50 year old guy and owns a masonry company, great guy who was really nice to the car. i have wanted it since he got it and now i can finally get it.

if your looking for basic performance stuff, id get a Cold Air Intake (CAI) of any brand, and a catback exhaust system (see hooker catback) too start with. that will really wake it up. theres a few free tweaks and mods you can do if you need that extra edge as well. search through this site and have fun! also you might look into gears and stall converter but that will probably be after you get infected with the MOD VIRUS.

did you guys do your own install of the hooker cat-backs ? or should i take it to Tuffy......i didnt know if all the brackets match up or not.

as for the mod virus.....i once had a stock truck, but now its lifted 7" on 35" tires, re-geared to 4.10's with a detroit locker and so on......it really is a sickness. the truck will not be the mud/winter beater (even though its rather nice)
