do you ever hear the fans kicking on when it gets hot? the computer should command the fans to come on when it gets so hot(forget teh exact temp but im sure you hit it). problem is that the temp guage in your dash is reading the temp off the head where teh computer reads it off a sensor in your waterpump. so if you have some blockage or junk in your coolant system then that will inhibit the circulation thru the heads causing it to overheat. so its is possible you just needs to flush your coolant system out. another possibility is a bad temp sensor in the waterpump but that is iffy. most cars will almost always overheat sitting still b/c theres no air blowing thru the radiator to cool off the coolant so that is not the issue. either your fans arnt coming on, coolant passages are constricted or maybe that temp snesor is faulty.

stock is 180. for daily driver I would leave the 180 in. I would drop a line to Ion at http://www.madz28.com. He can give you a tune and reset the ecm to turn on the fans sooner.

You can also put in a manuel switch if you would to do it youself. Do a search, you should find all the info you need.
