Getting bad wires?

My car has a miss (what a suprise) in the 1500-2500 rpm range mainly. It doesn't miss too bad the rest of the time, and it doesn't do it too bad unless I'm accelerating in that range. I change the wires, and it runs great for X amount of time. Usually for a month or two, but can differ (I've been through this a few times because I get free replacement for life so all it's costing me is time) but they always go bad. I'm assuming it's the wires, cause it runs great with new wires, and I'm not changing anything else. It doesn't change with temp outside or engine temp, it's pretty constant. I'm putting the wires on correctly in the brackets and they are not burning. I can avoid the miss pretty much with throttle control, but really it's just hurting me in moderate acceleration.

So, change wire brands? (I'm getting cheap *** Advance wires cause I'm pretty broke.) I'm planning on taking a new girl out this week so I'd like to avoid embarassment from my car acting like this.

If you wanna save a few more bucks, Jeg's makes LT1 wires for $29.99. I think they are as cheap as it gets.

I'm not worried about saving money, I just don't want to go out and spend 100 on wires right now. I'm worried that me being a cheap *** is what's ruining my wires. Pride takes place over money right now (to a reasonable extent).

I worked at Advance for several years; the cheap Xact wires are junk. Autolites (black box) are a bit better, and usually only a few dollars more. I just checked and I know their prices are regional, but here the Autolites for your car are only $5 more than the cheapies.

Is it just one wire going bad, or several? Same one/ones each time?

I have the autolight spark plug wires and am experienceing the same problem you are, runs good for x amount of time then miss under part throttle but under full throttle no miss. 4th set of wires also the lifetime garentee, but im sick of replacing them, im looking at over the valve cover wires, i also just have to come up with the $100

They can be found on Advance's website.

I wonder why they're going bad? Autolite's are usually pretty good. I've had a set on for longer than they should have been, and never a peep out of them.

I've got the Xact wires right now, not the Autolites.
