I have seen someone on here with 4.33's but that might have been in a 12 bolt. richmond makes the following....3.08,3.23,3.42,3.70,3.73,3.90,4.10,4. 56,4.88,5.13,5.38,5.57 I have heard some people say that richmond gears whine excessively and to go with gm motive gears.

I would just stick with a 4.10. First gear is already basically useless with that ratio, and anything lower would be almost instant death with traction

I agree, you would be happy with 3.73s or 4.10s. Most people run 4.10s with the M6.

i was reading that the recommended gear set for an auto is 3.42 and for a manual is 3.73 because at 4.10 you need quite a bit of stick to get going, so like drag radials or slicks after 4. just what i read in Chevy High Performance.

How do you even get traction? Out of curiosity, not being an ***.

Edit: I saw you have the 315 nittos out back btw, but I still think traction would be limited for you with those gears.

I hear 4.10's make you shift into 5th in the 1/4, that true? Those 3.90's may be a nice compromise between the 3.73's and 4.10's.

I think it depends on how fast your car is. Yeah I agree 3.90's would be about a perfect medium. If I remember right though, m6 cars with stock gearing don't shift out of 3rd until around 90+. I've heard of a lot of people making it through the traps in 3rd on a stock car, some people have to shift into 4th about 1 second before the traps. That's with around 100-104 mph in the 1/4. I can't imagine you'd have to shift into 5th unless you had quite a bit more mods. I dunno maybe I'm way off.

Well you hit it right on the head for me anyway. My fastest time was 104 and I hit 4th about 1-2 seconds before the trap.
