gears + rolls = what is better?
gears + rolls = what is better?
okay i know that thier is the SOTP difference but thats all i'm hearing, or maybe the .08 gain in a 1/4 mile but what about 60-70 mph punches? thats the main reason "IF" any, i would change from 3.42's in a M6 to anything else. despite all the other factors (ie: gas mileage, SOTP feel, dd friendly blah whatever) which gears "ACTUALLY" make a difference at roll races? just curious, i dont think i would swap gears for a different feel so i was wondering who has proven facts if they make differences in roll punches or not?
Yes the overall performance will be increased even at moving speeds because the rpms are increasing more at the given speed. Of course to much gear and your goning to redline to soon and causing to shift sooner. Since Ive now gone to 4.10s my 5th gear feels like fourth use to feel. There was definetely a big difference at all speeds, but like I say with a stock cam your limited to RPM so you must shift sooner, but the acceleration is better. Heres a nice article to check out -- http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/1007/index.html
