gears and rear end...come inside

i noticed a lil while back that i was leaking some rear end fluid..it was drippin down onto my intermediate pipe. Lately i have noticed that around 3,000+ rpms my gears get really whiney....are these related in anyway or is all of this normal except for the leak?

Check your fluid level. If the dif is empty it won't last long.

normally these rears are pretty noisy but if you have a leak on your intermediate pipe you might want to check your pinion seal, since this leaks and the driveshaft spins this will spin any fluid that is leaking from that seal. and if the rear is getting noisy like a 400lb wolf howling you might want to add fluid and check the rear depending on how long you have had the car the rear fluid should have been changed after 8000 miles anyway, if not then time to get your hands dirty and check it out. this may save you 400$ or more down the road. good luck

thanks guys...looks like i will have to check some stuff out...

just got done trying to run some relays to my turn signals to get some DRLs ... what a pain in the @$$...got the right light done....looks like ill get into the other light tomorrow or somethin....everything was pretty easy other than getting the damn pins on the relay to stick through the 3 wires (brown, black, blue) ...in the end i hope it works ha ....like $35 plus all the damn work to get all the wiring together....wish i had bought a 97 Z

anyone know if it is cool to run 18 guage speaker wire to a 12 guage inline fuse holder? i hope so or else i am screwed...
