Gear Ratio Question

What gear ratio does a stock 1993 Firebird Formula have? It's got the t56 6 speed tranny. I have heard 3.42 and 2.73 anyone know which for sure?

I heard stock they came with 2.73's with the option of 3.42's or something. Then in 94' they upgraded it to just a stock 3.42 with a 6 spd. Gonna hafta look at your code in the door jam and I'm sure someone can tell you what you have.

It depends on the M6 in the 93.

M28 was the F-Body spec M6 with the wider gear ratios, and thus got a 2.73 gearset.

M29 was the Viper tranny with the close ratio's, and got a 3.23 gearset.

There you go. Check your RPO sheet for either M28 or M29, and go from there.
