gear questions, sorry...

I know this has been asked a TON on here, but I have a two part question. I have 3.42 gears right now and I'm just nearing completeion of the "big" mods in the sig. I need to know if getting higher gears would REALLY make THAT much of a difference. They are rather expensive when you consider the average $400-500 package that thunderracing or racenet has. My car will only ever see 1 or 2 track days in its life, mainly a really nice weekend warrior/rice killer car I think 4.10's would be a little much, and I drove my buddies otherwise stock 97 5spd 4.8 Mustang GT with 3.73 gears and LOVED it, but I think I only loved the gears. If it will only do a little, I'm not wasting money! Also, question two: If I don't get gears, should I at least get the T/A girde to support my (hopefully) 400+rwhp?
Thanks!

Gears will liven your car up like nothing else will. However traction becomes more of a problem with the likes of 4.10's. With a 6 speed, you have plenty of overdrive to compensate when you want to get on the highway.

Actually, they are lower gears . They will increase the fun factor, but you have to deal with the traction issue to be able to actually use them to lower your e.t. You will have to be careful in the rain. Your engine mods won't mind being able to rap up to higher rpms quicker.
