gaskets for opti spark

I will be installing an opti spark and I still need to get the gaskets.
parts i have: opti, cap, rotor.
-I believe i will need a water pump gasket, opti gasket,.... anything else?
I searched a little but could not find much. If there is a write-up saying what is needed, a link would be sweet!
thanks,
andy

You need two water pump gaskets and an opti seal. The seal is a pain to get in and out though, so good luck.

I'm sure he means the one in the timing cover. Not a bad idea to replace it while the opti is out.

Is it normal for a little bit of oil to be in there?

There will be oil inside the seal area, but none should be outside the seal.

How long should that seal last? And do you have a pic of just the seal, the reason I ask I did not replace my seal 35k on it and now I noticed that a little bit of oil dripping.

Does the oil pan have to be completely removed, or just lowered, to get the timing cover off?

so, when changing the otpi you dont have to remove the timing cover but you do to change the seal. Is taking the timing cover off a hard job(just unbolt once water pump off? lower oil pan)? So, the only 2 gaskets i would NEED are the 2 water pump gaskets? and another for timing cover.
thanks,
andy

Thanks, 2tight.

I think there is a water pump seal and an optispark seal in the timing cover. I believe they can be replaced without removing the timing cover.

I'm going to be replacing my optispark and I'm considering doing some other stuff at the same time, which is why I was curious about what's necessary to remove the timing cover.

The only gaskets you MUST have to change the opti are the water pump gaskets. The oil seal in the timing cover for the opti is optional. It can be replaced without removing the cover.
