Re: Gas, what octane ???

Manuel Calls for 91 octane....i always run 93. My car has 135k on it and its been running great. running cheaper gas will ping and have more wear and tear as the mileage increases. Running high octane gas will increase engine life

I'd highly recommend running the highest grade of unleaded fuel possible.

Be it 91 or 93.

I run 93 in my 1992 Geo Prizm beater car for heavens sake.

I highly doubt your geo's motor is high enough compression to run 93 octane.

Re: Gas, what octane ???

I run 87, but took a bunch of spark advance out from 2400-5500rpm at high load, as I was getting some KR there.
I didn't really have to adjust anything in the part throttle area. I should reevaluate in this hot weather, though.

Re: Gas, what octane ???

DO NOT run an LT1 on 87, 89, or 91. They are built to run on 93, and 93 only. Don't go any lower.

PS, running a geo on 93 octane is just plane dumb and pointless. Chances are, it's running worse on 93 as opposed to 87, which is probably what it was built for.
