Question Gas smell inside car ???

After I've driven my TA and shut it off, a few minutes later I have a relatively strong smell of gas inside the car. I haven't had time to hunt down the problem yet, but I was hoping for some ideas as to what it could be.

I had a gas smell also, then my header broke so I just assumed it was cracked the whole time. Its possible your manifolds/headers are cracked or leaking.

Might be an exhaust leak.

I know it's not an exhaust leak, I just put new gaskets in the manifolds the other day when I did my head swap.

By any chance is your engine running really rich?

Do you have a cutout? When I installed mine I had a really really strong smell like the car was running super super rich. Only really got a wiff after I shut the car down though. Only happened for a short time. Just an idea.

No fuel leaks that I can find. Everything under the hood is dry. I'd have noticed it when I swapped the heads, the intake wasn't even really dirty. I don't have a cut-out either. It's really noticable when it's hot out and I have the windows all the way up. Where is the EVAP canister ? Isn't there something up in one of the wheel wells ?

Do you have the backseats still in your car (serious question).

Cause when some people take out the back seats they don't patch up the holes in the bottom. That can cause a gas smell in the car.

Driver's rear wheelwell. I'd bet that's your problem.
