gas smell after plug/wire change..

everytime i shut down my car and get in like an hour later theres a really noticable gas smell....but the car runs fine and the wires look ok...and the smell is gone when you are driving...so i'm confused..its only after i shut it down is when you can smell it... anyone have any idea?

I think you messed with the evap purge valve or something. I don't know details but that could cause it. Also, something might be misfiring or its running rich.

I used to have a line that carried gas emissions that was unhooked...trace all the fuels lines and one of them is actually for vapor...mine had come unhooked or whatever and i was smelling the fumes...
