Will 1.6 RR's and LT4 springs increase or decrease my gas millage?

I always wonder why people who are worried about gas milage buy sports cars and then mod them.

because a few years ago when most of us bought our cars a gallon of gas wasn't around the $3 mark. I can remember two years ago in MI it was about $1.75 for premium, now here in CO where gas taxes are less I'm at about $2.85 for it, factor in I fill up at about 1/4 tank I put in an average of 12 gallons meaning I pay about $13.20 extra per fill up or about a week. putting my yearly addition of about $684. which isn't a huge amount, but while I am a student most of my money goes to paying college costs, which a few hundred extra dollars might go to getting me some headers or fixing my passenger window that takes about 5 minutes to roll up all the way.

although we do have better prices than most places, like in germany a few years ago even with a near even exchange rate with the Euro put a gallon (~3.8L) of gas at a bit over $5. I'm pretty sure their prices have risen along with ours.

That's alright, when I bought my car gas was still $0.99/gallon for 93 octane.
