Gas mileage and 4.10s...

Guys turns I may have to get the rearend replaced in my car...I'm thinking maybe 3.73's or 4.10s...but I do probably 70 percent highway driving and was wondering what kind of affects will this have on my mileage...I generally am between 65 and 85 mph...I know 3.73s will not really effect mileage but 4.10s I was thinking my highway may drop to 25 or 26 from 29ish...the city I don't really have any idea what kinda drop I'd expect...oh yeah I've got a 6 speed car...thanks in advance...

If you're definitely doing one or the other, there isn't a large difference between the two with gas mileage...

I wouldn't even worry about it...get what you want!

I would just get the 4.10's. The difference in gas mileage won't really be noticable between 3.73 and 4.10. Maybe 1mpg. But i think you would enjoy the 4.10's better so i would go with those.

When my father had 4.10's he would get 26-27 MPG. He also has a 6 speed.

Looks like its going to be the 3.73s guys. I talked to the guy at the shop and Insurance is paying for the housing and all that cause I need a new one...but they'll only pay for factory gearing so I'm gonna come outta pocket 200 bucks to put in the 3.73s. He had some 4.10s but I didn't have the *****...I hope 3.73s make a difference.
