Gas Mileage?

i know this is an out of the ordinary question but im just curious to know about how many miles to the tank you get out of an LT1? im currently driving this D&*$ V6 Camaro and buying a 95 stock TA next week and wondering the big difference in mileage.

Trans am is basically stock, automatic, 87k(if matters), flowmaster quads. after market filter(i think a FRAM, but unsure)

thanks if possible to answer this without making me look like an idiot!

I have a 96 M6, and i dont like to run it to the E. So i fill up at about 200 miles and put in around 11 gallons usually. Roughly 19 mpg, driven easily. If i go interstate for a long time, 6th gear gives me GREAT mileage. Mostly city driving i get around 18 or so, but I dont get on it alot anymore.

i got about 19-20 mpg in my a4 but that was with 2.73 gears. did get 28mpg on the highway driving about 85-90 up the mountains when i bought the car. now since i've started modding it, i'm down to about 17-18mpg...still with the 2.73 gears. i hope when i change gears it doesn't get much worse.

oh yeah, and that was about 280miles per tank of gas, stock. now it's about 240 if i'm lucky

I fell a little better about my average of 15-16 with my blown/heads/cam car. But I'm also running a rich tune for safety at the moment, it should pick up when I get around to doing a final tune on it. When the car was mostly stock (ie. headers and a few other bolt ons) I was getting about 29 on the high way and 19-20 around town. 6th gear rules!

It all really depends on how you drive it. If you do a lot of city driving, then an Automatic is the way to go. If you do a lot of highway driving then a Manual will be awesome. I get almost 29mpg out of my M6 on the highway. It is substantially worse in the city. I'd say anywhere from 13-19mpg. But I am no longer stock and can only run premium. Which you can get away with mid grade. Regular gas not recommended. Good luck with the buy. I came from a V6 Camaro as well, so I feel you pain. But my wallet feels mine now.

i appreciate the help on this one guys. by just assuming that the TA gas tank was the same size as the Camaro's in the 95's i would just have to say "what the hell is wrong with my current gas mileage!?!?!" some of yall get around 240 on an lt1 and i get that on my v6? i do mainly highway too. job is only 2 miles down the road, and girl friend is 10 down the highway. so this may not make since to me. but on the other hand, i got a great price for my insurance. Full coverage for only $$260/month .

Why again do i sound like some TV PROMO?

I used to own a 95 v6 camaro, R.I.P., i don't think there was much diff in gas though, i think i was getting about 20 mpg with that, a 5 speed, so it only dropped about 1-2 mpg, insurance only increased like 5 bucks a month too...

All I do is city driving to and from work and I get around 18 MPG. Although I dont see this as an accurate number because I am always "dropping the hammer". Hmmm should I try to go slow and see if my mileage increases ? ? ? NAH!!!!! and did he say 260 a month for insurance ? OUCH ..... I pay 196 with Two speeding tickets and Two equipment violations ..... People on the east coast would pay about 99 bucks a month with my record...... so 260 ........ummmm

With my old formula i got 400+ to the tank on the highway, 31 mpg. It was an M6 with a cc305 cam. My new firehawk gets alot worse because of the cc306 and no tune. I got 22 mpg today on a 500 mile trip. The hawk is also an M6 with 1/3 the miles of the formula.

Im getting the computer tuned whenever madwolf comes out of his hole. Im curious to how much better my gas mileage will be. It drinks the gas in the city as is (12-14 mpg).
