gas gauge acting retarded
whenever i press the gas my fuel gauge pegs out way past the full mark and if i take a corner, it will go back down and then shoot back to maxed out after a few seconds. it has always gone past full when i filled up and it ran out of gas on just under 1/4 of a tank once. doess this sound like a float problem or a loose wire?

yea, me and the gas guage are not friends. It's annoying to see it move all over the place when you pass the halfway mark. I just gave up and I count my mileage just in case. I now know that approx 200 miles from a full tank means that I need gas soon or maybe now. I ran out of gas once in a merging lane, wasn't fun. One second I was qtr tank, next couple minutes...gone. Count your mileage every tank to be safe.

Yea, mine does the same thing... the funny thing is when it gets REAL low, it reads full. When there is about 2 gallons left, it starts to jump between 1/4 and full depending on my acceleration/deceleration. These guages are crazy man.

Without knowing right now how the gauge in the tank works, can it get gummed up? Does adding fuel injector cleaner get the gunk off? I'm wondering because even though our gas gauges are very non-linear, some of the problems seem a bit severe, like something is sticking.
