G2 Cai?

Has anyone tried out the G2 cold air intake on their LT1? I just ordered one and it will be here on monday and I was just wondering if anyone might have any dyno numbers or suggestions about this system. Thanks in advance.

From what I have heard most people do not like it as it (or atleast used to) utilizes the stock airbox, and therefore nets minimal gains.

i have to G2 on mine. It was on there when i got it. The fit and finish seem good.

Looks like quite a bit more volume in the bend area that turns down to the fenderwell than the stock one on my old z28.

I hacked up the stock airbox upstream of the filter when i got the car. (drilled holes with hole saw for little more air)

It's a nice piece, but i may put a cone filter on to get rid of the airbox eventually.

So with the G2 you could just take off the airbox piece and connect a cone filter onto the G2 CAI tube? If so what size or part number would I need?

I prefer the SLP or AZ S&M over all others. Much better look and quality IMO.

yea, the G2 comes when a replacement piece for the airbox half that's downstream of the filter and a rubber piece that fits between the box and the new tube piece.

A 4in I.D. cone filter will slip on the the new tube instead though,

The other ones will net better gains. I chose Moroso and when you first get it it doesn't look that much bigger than factory, but once it's in it looks huge in comparison, especially the part where it turns down.

I wouldn't fret about it though, you can always ditch the box and run a cone filter, etc.
