FYI: changes with my setup

I just ordered my 227 cam and 10308-1 spring kit...
Since i put this is in lt1 tech i better ask a technical question...
How much power will i make? haha j/k
But seriously, will i still have to measure for valve height or are these a direct, easy replacement? because i noticed that the stock springs do not contain shims so i would assume that the intall height for all the valves will remain the same...

Just trying to poke my head into the 12's...

I will also be changing my rearend from 3:42's to 3:23's... i know, i know (why?)... i just like the feel of the 3:23's. I don't have the money for a 12 bolt and the 3:42's that i have now are getting worse... so ia friend gave me a rearend from an 01 a4 ws6 with 17k for FREE...

I also have lt4 valve covers, 1le elbow and lingenfelter cai on the way...

nothing major just thought i would let folks know of my plan...
and to warn you ahead of time that i may have some ameture/dumb questions for you all...

Wish me luck!

I've got 3.23's in my basically stock 95 formula with an A4. I might try a 3.42 if I need a new rear end anytime soon, but I have to admit I like the 3.23's also. They pull VERY hard out of the hole but seem to stretch the gears out just enough to make excellent time without winding too much or lugging any....seems to be nice gearing for the auto and the motors powerband Plus I get wayy better mpg than a car with this kinda power should get I'm curious tho, whats your feedback on the 3.42's? Likes/dislikes ect?
And keep us informed of your cam experience.......I might be going down the same road soon myself

3:42'S are good... but i'm thinking that the 227 cam with 2600-3000 stall and 3:23 will run good from the bottom to the top... JMO, i could be wrong...
i'm just looking for something thats good at the track and fun to drive on the road and i think that will be a good combination...

3.73's with a 3600 would be best Imo.

is that too much stall for the 227 cam or would the taller gears make up for it...
i had 3:73's before then i shattered the pinion gear and messed up the ring gear... that and the 3:73's spin way too much...
