To get to the fuel pump, you are going to have to drop the rear end down some. Once you have that done, the gas tank has to be dropped. Make sure you empty it out, cause its gonna be heavy and hard to balance with fuel in it. Thats kinda a jist of it, im sure there are some write ups. I had my fuel pump replaced at the dealership and it was about $800 if I remember correctly, but its lifetime warrenty.

I just did a fuel pump on my 97 formula. It should be just about the same. First put the car up on jack stands or put the rear weels on ramps. unbolt the 2 suspenstion things that go across the bottom of the tank. you will have to push the car up a little to get one of the bolts to pass the spring on the right side. then take off the exaust from just cats or near the cross member if u can. you will need to heat the exaust up alot to get it to come off this is the hardest part. then take off the heat shelds and un blt the straps holding the tank up and pull the tank down. It is a pain in the *** to get out once u get it down unhook all the fuel lines from the pump but besure to marke where they went very impotant!
You can be rough getting it out i had to bend it filler by pulling the tank to get it down. but dont worrie it bends back to place with a long screwdriver. buy the haynes manuel for ur car at pep boys and use that for a refrence. plane on spending around 300 for the pump new and about 5 hour to do it.

I dropped the tank the first time and cut an access hatch the second time I had to go into the tank.

Dropping the tank isn't too hard just a pain in the ***.
