Ok guys my car is acting up. Mods are in the sig. When i start the car up it acts like it isnt getting anough fuel to keep it running. I have to keep cranking on it to get it going. Then all of a sudden the rpms will go way up for about 15 seconds and the car will run fine after that until I try to start it again. I havent installed my 30# injectors or my walbro yet. I was wondering if maybe my old pump has just had it and is going out? Or maybe my old injectors. Either way those two things will be changed soon so if you guys think it is something else please let me know. Thanks so much for the help!

 

Mine had the same problem, almost exactly. I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator and it hasn't come back since. Check if the vacuum line has gas or smells like gas. If it does replace it and it'll be fixed.

 

Is there a fpr on the stock fuel rails?

 

check your temp sensor in the water pump had the same problem as you and it fixed it. shoebox has a guide to checking it.

the fpr is on the back of the fuel rails it has a vaccume hose connected to it.

 

Also there is a sensor on the drivers side head that broke off. Could that have anything to do with it?

 

that one is just for the dash gauges

 

Ok the wp sensor is good. So more than likely looking like the fpr? I can smell gas there but I just changed my fuel filter so I will prob smell gas for a while haha. Is that really the only other thing it could be?

Im not sure it just started doing this yesterday out of nowhere. I know that the fuel pump is stock and the car itself has 135k. The injectors are still the stock 24#s and that isnt enough for my setup. I am not really sure what it is

 

all i know to tell you is check your fuel pressure. maybe someone else can chime in. have you tried cycleing the key a few times to prime the fuel system?

 

Yea tried that I guess I will check the fpr in the morning and if it is bad replace it. If it isnt bad all it really can be is the fuel pump or the injectors. Thanks for all your replies and help man!

 

20 bucks on fpr. just check that little black hose coming out of it pointing towads the passenger side (incase you didnt know). If it's wet or smells like gas get a new one, and there ya have it. mine was $80 at NAPA.

Ok well it wasnt the regulator. When I start it up I have to keep the gas pedal down about halfway so it wont die. Then after about 1-2 minutes the rpms jump way up and it runs fine. Its just right after start up if I dont give it gas it will die and when I push the pedal down some it is very very choppy. Anyone??? I need help
