fuel injectors???

my motor is missing really bad and i have a good deal of power loss. all the ignition is new...and just recently this problem started. so i pulled the plugs from the passenger side and checked em...covered in black powder(carbon). i moved to the driver side and noticed the first 2 were somewhat clean. so i figure its running lean in those chambers. i pulled the injectors and hooked them up to a 12 volt power and ran a presurized line with gas to it. it made a misty spray. i pulled one from the other side and it made a more concentrated stream line. could this be my problem?

Re: fuel injectors???

From the description, I'd say the plugs with soot indicate a rich condition, and the two on the other side that were clean might indicate they are running correctly. Was there at least a light tan color to the two you thought were lean?

Re: fuel injectors???

You're running rich on multiple cylinders. Not necessarily an injector problem. Could be caused by high fuel pressure, misfires, leaking exhaust before the O2 sensors, faulty O2 sensors, etc. I wouldn't buy a set of injectors until you diagnosed the problems.

Your stock injectors are 24#/HR, not 26.
