Question Fuel Injector Size???

I'm doing a 383 with the LT4 hotcam ,and LT4 heads I now it's not the best setup but I got a good deal on everything. What size injectors should I run in it? I had just the cam and heads edited on my computer before, do you think I need to edit agian for the 383?? I tried to do a search but ended up with nothing...

You should be well over 400flywheel HP with that setup, so its time to move up to a 30# injector. Keeping the 24's would push the injector duty cycle too high. There are people doing it, but I can't understand why.

If you change the injector size (and probably brand/type, as well), you need to change the flow constant and offsets in the program, or it won't run correctly. Your current tune will probably be "OK" with the increase in displacement to 383, but it you change the injectors, you definitely need a reprogram.

I'd agree with Injuneer. 30 lb injectors should work pretty well for your setup.

BTW...

Think a new fuel pump would be a good idea? Nothing wrong with the one I got now (stock)...

Unless you've got the extra $$. Your setup is pretty mild. I'd keep the stock pump till it starts giving you trouble, then upgrade to a walbro intank pump.

You might want to look on ebay for some SVO injectors.. the red tops. If you are lucky you can get some low mileage ones. When i picked up mine they were only $180 and used a couple times on the dyno until the owner realized they were too small.

Who wants to use a Ford product on their F body??

Just kidding.

I've got a Ford tensioner on my supercharger and it works really well. And I've heard no complaints about the SVO injectors.

I decline to mention how much I paid for my injectors. But they are all matched so it wasn't too bad.
