Hi folks,

I'm trying to fix an oil leak off the front of the engine. Now that I have the distributor and pump off, I found both are leaking. I'm trying to find all the seals and went to the chevy dealership. After 20+ minutes they finally found the WP drive shaft seal, but insist the opti does not have a seal available. They also could not find the crank seal.

I found the following part numbers on shbox,

1995-1997 front cover opti seal 12552428

1993-1997 front cover crank seal 10128316

these are the right seals? adding the timing cover and water pump gaskets, and a sleeve for the balancer hub, are there any other seals/gaskets I should change while I am in there?

 

Go to Autozone and get the complete timing cover gasket set for 14.95..

 

Okay... I hate you now. I'd been to all the parts stores in town asking for a distributor seal, water pump shaft seal and what I'd seen referred to as a "Front seal kit". I even peeled the damn thing off and took it in. Even asked for the timing cover gasket. At the dealership I was even pointing out the part location on a diagram. Noone pointed out such a kit to me.

Now that I search for the right term, I find it in 10 seconds for 10 bucks.
