Front seal leaking.
What seal is actually leaking?
You really don't need to remove the timing cover to replace any of the TC seals.
The hub yes if it's the crank seal thats leaking.
The water pump seals on the LT1 are a problem usually and hard to replace and get right [buy 2 in other words].
Do a search on methods for WP seal replacement if it's that one.

Gaskets needed:
2 Water Pump Gaskets
1 Opti seal gasket
1 Crank gasket
1 Timing Cover Gasket
Question though: What's leaking out? I presume oil. If you do end up removing the timing cover, BE CAREFUL not to screw up the oil pan gasket. Like posted above, the crank and opti gaskets don't necessitate removing the timing cover.
