Hey All, I seem to have a front seal leaking engine oil. Does the seal come out the front after you remove the Harmonic balancer (Like the old 350's), or do you have to take the front cover off to remove it? Thanks, Later>>>>>>>

 

Remove the damper[3 bolts] then the hub[on the crank, one bolt in center]using the appropriate pullers, then the seal in the usual manner..
A search may help with hub removal techniques etc..

 

Thanks, I'll buy a new seal, just hard to tell by looking if it pressed in from the front or back side of the cover. I have a dampner puller. Thanks again. Later>>>>>>>>

 

The seal is basically what you are used to with the regular SBC.
