Front and rear intake manifold gasket?

Since I'm running a single plane, is there any reason not to use a cor or rubber formed gasket for the front and rear of the intake manifold? I've got both formed cork and rubber. Why would you use rtv instead of a gasket?

Re: Front and rear intake manifold gasket?

RTV seals better than the old cork/rubber end gaskets. Just put a nice thick bead front and back and be done with it.

Will RTV hold up to 20lbs of boost? What about a combination of a formed gasket and RTV at the edges, where the head/block/intake meet?

It doesn't have to hold 20 pounds of boost in the crankcase....that's inside the intake tract. You may see elevated crankcase pressure but not that much, every seal would fail....

I woke up this morning and noticed that. Unless I plumb the PCV system wrong, it should see much, if any boost.
