Do a search for the TB bypass. It is easy to do - many members are undecided if it is actually beneficial, but certain guys have shown dyno results of +7hp.

Free mods are mods you can do with out costing money by altering your car.

Here are a few that I know of. Look/Search for links for specific directions.

Throttle Body Bypass: A coolant line that goes through your TB, so that when its REALLY cold that ice gets in the blade and bind the TB blades, but we really dont need it, I live in CT and its fine. Well running HOT coolant through it makes the TB hot and when the air is hot, there is less oxygen per cubic mm/cm. Basically less oxygen, so you dont have as much oxygen going into the cyl, and you lose a few hp. Generaly 5-7 hp at the fly could be gained.

Gut the Catalytic Converter: First off THIS IS A BS MOD. For the simple reason that....

#1 your Poluting the environment
#2 if not done correctly you could have CO in your cockpit (death)
#3 If you have emissions your gonna fail (need to buy another cat)
#4 Turbulance, unless you put a striaght pipe in, the air is gonna start a vortex and go anywhere except in the "I" pipe.
#5 You will lose hp.

Some may dis agree by punching out the meterial inside, that since there is no obstruction, that its freeir flowing, but as the air enters a expansion space then forced to get back into a smaller space, that its gonna create turbulance and flow will not be increased. ONLY by having a stright pipe put in, will there be more flow.

Just get a high flow cat for emissions and flow results.

Tune-up: Not really free, but a GOOD tune up, all filters, fluids, wires and plugs will give you back lost hp, and the car will be more responsive.

AIR/EGR removal; Another BS mod for power, BUT will clean up your engine bay, and take some weight off. I think its the AIR, that it circualtes when your NOT in WOT (wide open throttle) but when you nail the gas it shuts off, so your not losing power. You dont see a real power gain, and you will fail emissions, since you will fail the sniffer test when your idling.

There are more, i forget them im sure poeple got more.

Yeah i have the same thing, i ruled it out as an exaust leak but people have said it could be a collapsed lifter or something like that.

Your lifter could be collapsed, or just clogged. Try running a quart of atf in your oil, if is indeed clogged with dirt from the oil it'll clean it right out.
