Freakin' head studs are leaking! Should I switch back to bolts?

Using motor oil over moly lube you will always have a higher torque rating. I would buy the ARP assembly lube/sealer it has sealer and lube in one tube. Its seems to be the alot like the teflon stuff you are reffering to. Same pastey texture and such. Very messy stuff. I use a liquid teflon paste as a replacement for teflon tape at work to seal Autoclaves and different plumbing.

with my head BOLT kit there was no molly lube. I would assume then that they want you to use just sealant? Why does this have to be so friggin hard? Does the sealant affect the torque reading? If you use molly lube and sealant, wouldnt the lube prevent the sealant from sticking to the bolt and the hole? WTF?!?!

You potentially could use either/or in the threaded holes, not both at the same time. They tried to make the torque the same for either by adjusting the formula. The trouble is that, if you use sealer in the block, you need something different than sealer under the washers and bolt heads or stud nuts. For our engines, if you use the bolts or studs, you need the sealer with teflon in the block threads to keep the coolant sealed up and some moly under the heads or nuts & washers to cut friction and get accurate torque.

Ill just seal the threads, any squirt some molly under the head of my arp bolts.
