Forgive my riceboy ignorance but...

What is the difference b/t the Camaro/Firebird LT1 and the Corvette LT1. I'd imagine different cam profile and intake maybe? Once again, forgive my ignorance. I was reading the "ignorant car comments thread" in the lounge and realized I could become some ignorant riceboy if I don't find out.

Exhaust, 4 bolt main. Think the cams were the same in the LT1's, may be wrong, and a oil cooler.

The accessory drive was also different if I'm not mistaken. I believe the alternator on the vettes is on the driver's side. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Kind of like the kid at my dorm last year who was bragging to girls outside my g/f's room that his Caprice had a 400hp Corvette engine So I sent my g/f out to correct him on a few of his claims It was pretty funny, he got all choked up that a girl was correcting his LT1 knowledge.

Dealer replacement LT1s got 4-bolt mains, just a little FYI.

Yah, i'm not sure if the cam grinds are the exact same - i always thought the camaro had a less agressive cam. If not i guess the 25hp rating difference between the cars is probably due to intake and exhaust differences (camaro with true duals and less restrictive stock intake).

If we start talking LT1/LT4 your looking at different cam/heads/intake.

Only LT4 Corvettes had the LT4. Otherwise they had the LT1.

Now that's interesting. My block has a remanufactured sticker on the bottom, with a 7 digit number. Anyone got any info on that? I never really bothered to ask. Would be nice to know when the original got replaced as well, I suppose GM might have info on that?

I remember seeing a couple threads on this before. Might want to try a few searches. From what I remember the consensus was that all replacement blocks had 4-bolt mains.
