Hey everyone,

I am putting together a forged 383 setup currently, and here are my goals for the project. I want it to be a stout motor N/A, but be able to handle a decent sized shot of N2O when that time comes. The heads and cam are set, so I just need the rotating assembly. I would prefer to keep a compression ratio somewhere around 11:1.

As far as components, I was looking at the following, but none are set in stone:

Eagle ESP 6.000" H-beam connecting rods with L19 bolt option
Eagle Forged crank
Clevite 77 main, rod, and cam bearings
Total seal gapless TS1 rings

As far as pistons, I am having trouble finding something that will take a floating pin, on a 6" rod, and have a static compression ratio in the area of 11:1. The biggest requirement is that it needs to stand up to a moderate shot of juice.

if you find a kit you can save some money i have a callies with eagle rods and je piston i got if 2 years ago for 2000 out the door i dont know how price are now but at the time it was much cheaper then parting it all togerher.

 

Well, I ended up ordering a 'kit' from combination motorsports. It should be here by the end of next week. I got the following in the kit:

Eagle forged 3.75" crank
Forged Eagle H-Beam ESP rods with the L19 rod bolt upgrade.
SRP -16cc pistons, floating pin
Clevite 77H bearings
SRP ring kit

The engine will be out soon, and then the disassembly begins.
