Alot of times folks are asking how to make their cars just plain out scarry. I have come to that crosswalk myself and have decided to give step by step information on the parts I pick and how it is coming. So sit back and come check out my post from time to time. This is the beginning of the journey, and my time frame to have it in the car will be July 3rd. 03.

So here is what I have decided to do. I will be getting an Lt4 Block and making a 383 Stroker out of it. I am looking to put down at least 425 RWHP and 460 RWTQ with an A4.

I just purchased back my 97 TA heads from AhartZ28. He did some massive porting on these. They are bare heads but the porting has been done. I am going to take them to GTP here in a couple of weeks and have them flowed. I will be using Ferrera Valves, 2.00 and 1.56 for this. Also I will be using some Comp Cam Triple Springs. I hope to get 275+ on the intake side and 190+ on the exhaust side at .600 lift.

If anyone has some do's and dont's omn their own personal 383 build up I would love to hear from you.

My goal will be to run my 3700 LBS 97 TA in the quarter at 11.4 and around 120 MPH NA. Think its going to happen? Im building this in hopes that I will be using a 150 shot on it in the future to propell me around a 10.6....

Remember..bigger isnt ALWAY better...You want some heads that move some good air(good velocity) From what I have seen AHARTZ does a good job on porting tho.

I wouldnt get my heads flowed at GTP..seems there bench is always a lil high

Make sure you get a Canton oil pan..

I would go with a Eagle Forged crank, forged eagle 6" rods, forged SRP pistons(-4CC dish to bring compression to 11.5 to 1)

My rotating assy cost right at 1500 then all the labor cost another 1400 including the 4bolts splayed main caps..

I plan on spraying 175 shot in the future...My engine builder said my engine will hold 250 easily tho..

Get a piece of paper out and list everything you need..Thats how I did it and I made sure I had EVERYTHING ready when the motor was complete..

Here is a good site by Fred also

If you get them flowed at GTP (or anywhere) I would like to compare my flow bench to theirs. E-mail me if you are interested.

Nighttrain-- I will either get them flowed at Kendricks here in San Antonio or GTP in houston. When I get them done I can send you any numbers they you may want to see. Also I will be there when the bench flow taking notes and pics on how it was done.

Cody, thanks for the tips... Are you the same Cody that Ryan was talking to me about today? Did you go to SLP Day last Saturday?

Then it was probably you that Ryan was talking to me about. Cant remember what about, just remember the name. Something like you thought that was him up in Ennis but you didnt come over? make a sence to you? Nothing worth while just chatting about Ennis.

Monkey.

I would like to see the #'s, sure.......... but the main reason that I would like to flow em would be to compare the flow #'s that I get to someone elses bench. I am not doubting whatever #'s you are gonna get from either place. I just like to compare my bench whenever possible. If you would be interested and ever make it to Red Oak (20 mins. south of Dallas) let me know. I would not charge ya anything.

NightTrain- I didnt take it any other way. You have always been helpful when ever you answered any of my posts.
I will get in touch with you after I get these heads flowed. Most likley at GTP since it will take until im 40 for Kendricks to get around doing it (im only 29 now ).
The heads next step is to get cut for larger valves and to get a 5 angle valve job also having them decked will be in order. I am thinking of going with 2.00 on the intake and 1.56 on the exhaust. I have been told from a few folks not to go to the 2.02 and 1.60 set-up. It will be interesting to see how they flow on 2 different set-ups. I watched as AhartZ28 (Ryan) did these heads. They were going to be put on his car in replace of the GTP heads he has now. He did an awsome job on them. When he finished I swooped in on him and bought the heads from him(they were on my 97 TA to begin with and the felt lonley not being home ). I am really expecting to see some nice flow numbers from the heads.
As long as everything goes right, I should have the machine work done by March 9th. And then I will take them over to Houston.
