Angry Fog light Burnt Out...A Few Questions...

What is the procedure for replacing it? Do I just get a replacement bulb, or does the whole thing have to be swapped out as a unit? If so, where is the best place to get a new one, and how much do they go for? Thanks!

here's a fix

a bunch of people are probably going to tell you to search for it but ill actually give you some worthwhile advice. I just replaced the factory 18 watt units with some 55w H3 ones from pep boys or the like. I used the following guide from projecttransam to help me.

hope this helps,
Bubba

There is two ways to swap the bulbs out. One way is to get under the front of the car and remove the splash guard or what ever that thing is called that scrapes when you go down a steep incline. Remove it so you can gain access to the lamps and just twist the bulb out and replace.

The second way is, if you look at the fog light through the front dead on there should be some clips on each side of the housing. Take a screw driver (flat end) and pop them out and that should let the housing come loose so you can swap out the bulb. Work backwards to re-install.

Here are the methods stated above with just a tad more detail. I have used both methods, either way is about the same difficulty wise.

I have to replace my fog lamp bulbs once a year and I only drive this car about 8000 miles a year. When one bulb stops working withing a week the other one does also for some reason, from now on Iam going both at the same time.

I think halogen bulbs can't be touched with the bare hand. Something about the oil in the skin or some silly crap like that. The point is maybe y'all shouldn't be touching the things. Use gloves or a paper towel or something like that. What could it hurt to NOT touch them with bare hands??????
