Fluxuating Oil Pressure + Crackling Sound @ Idle
Fluxuating Oil Pressure + Crackling Sound @ Idle
I was driving along today. When I had my car at idle the oil pressure would go down to the 1/4 mark, I guess it's 20. When I started driving it went back to the middle. Also I was parked for about 5 minutes on two occasions and I kept hearing a crackling sound when I had the car stopped.
Can anyone tell me what to do

Re: Fluxuating Oil Pressure + Crackling Sound @ Idle
Your oil pressure sounds fine. Oil pressure will move up and down depending on your rpm level bc it is drivin off the camshaft. The faster the camshaft is spinning, the more your oil pressure is going to be. I dont have any insight on your crackling sound as it could be so many differant things.

Yeah oil pressure sounds fine, as for the crackling noise is it coming from the area underneath the passenger compartment(the hump in the floor on 93-95 cars)? If it occurs while your decelerating or stopped I'll take a guess and say its your catalyst(going bad).
