Unhappy flushed heater core heat still not HOTT

I have gotten my heater core flushed. My temp gauge with stock t-stat and tuning will not go above 185. The heat will get lukewarm only after driving, but you turn the fan on the lowest setting its warm a bit as soon as you turn the fan up its going cold. I can hear the mix door open and close. What elese is there beside the core and the door? I went all last winter with NO heat, I would like heat. Well thanks for the help.

Did you flush both ends untill the water ran clear? Maybe your heater core is shot?

My dad had a problem like yours. He had to flush it out 7-10 times. Now his heat is 100% back to normal, and has been like that a while now.

ive had similar problems with my camaro and firebird, but I dont have an answer for you. In the summer I dont need heat in the maro, and in the winter I just do it like a man and drive cold as f*** around buffalo, haha

The only thing I can think to do is new T-stat, flush the heater core a bunch more times, flush coolant/radiator, get some new hoses etc anything heating/cooling related and see what works

I was in your shoes last year. I took the car to a local car wash, unhooked the 2 hoses running to and from the heater core. I dumped in a bunch of Purple Power degreaser, let it sit. The I plugged the end of the power washer into the end of the hose (to reverse flow from normal and back flush) and just let it rip. I switched back and forth several times using the high pressure spray.

I also swapped my vaccum hose over to the drivers side. My heat works ok with a 160 but is hot as hell with a 195.

Just a thought, but did you make sure the restrictor wasn't clogged. It's the black plactic piece in line on one of the hoses going to the heater core.

I have also found that in many cases if the block is not flushed well, the material sloughing off the inside of the block will re-clog the heater core.

What do you mean exactly.

I'm going to try to flush it some more.
