FLP Tuned LE2 385 LT1

Gotta say, runs great!

Dan Bills @ FLP tuned it to roughly the following numbers:
405 HP @ 5600-6400
398 lb/ft @ 3500-4400rpm
Over 350 lb/ft from 2400-5600

This is the LE2 heads/cam/intake for 350, not 383(385). I have 4.10 gears, FLP LT's and ORY, 58 mm ASM and a T56. The things that please me most, I still get 24mpg and the torque curve is very flat. Lloyd and Brett let me know I could use a little more duration in this motor for 10-20 more HP, but I like the 6400 shift point. Dan had no trouble getting the tune spot on and offered to keep going to "maximize" the last few ponies, but there was no knock retard and a flat 13.0 AFR told me I was done. I will install my N2O kit next year after switching to 3.73 gears so I don't run out of gear in the 1/4.

P.S. The Static C/R is 11.8 and this was on 92 BP Fuel.

I wanted to thank everyone I bought parts from over the last 2 years to finish this project.

Travis

Thanks,
Just the engine and tune....~$4,800. However, I bought the LE2 parts, rockers, pushrods, ASM58mm, ATI damper, injectors all off this board. All were new except the damper I got from hondahunter. The rest off the parts and machine work I payed wholesale through or performed myself at my second job. I just had alot of patience waiting for the parts I wanted to come up for sale.

Nice numbers! Did you schedule an appt w/ Dan? I'm taking mine up there next summer to get dialed in and can't wait. Did he do any street tuning w/ yours or was your driveability pretty good to begin with?

When are you going to get some dyno or track #'s for your new setup?

Questions/Comments

Lloyd,
It is an absolute beast! I stripped the ring and pinion on a 5000mile rear 5 miles into the engine break - in. Ooops!

The Srz,
I did make an appointment. Mitch actually works behind the desk now, Dan's pretty busy. I tried several misc. tunes before the Dyno Date. Drivability wasn't great, but was livable. My manual-challenged wife drove it the day before the tune. He nailed the tune in two pulls, then street drove it for about 30 minutes. Before the tune he asked interviewed me thoroughly about my vehicle use, fuel, driving style, etc...

mthegodfather,
Thank you. Quality parts, quality tune. Good people.

Greaseymec,
I am very happy with low 230's duration and 6400 shift points.

SS RRR, speed_demon24,
Thanks! I believe the track times will be spring now. Busy time of year for me. Besides, I would really like to go 3.73's for the strip and Road America in April.

flyinZ,
Dan is just good people. Drives like stock so far. No 'surging' or 'bucking'.

Thanks guys! I would have to recommend this combo for street guys. I'll let you know about the track when I go.

Thanks gota406 for the info! I've speak w/ Mitch on a somewhat regular basis and asked him to book me in July 08'. I'm looking forward to it. That's cool as hell he dialed it in in 2 pulls. Enjoy the beast!
