Use the search function and all you need to know can be found. I've seen them for $1250 just about everywhere. FLPs are good headers from what I read. They fit really good and give the best ground clearance of any LT I've read about and come with an O/R pipe and cats you can switch in and out I believe. Theres a few guys on the board that have them and can help you out more. ANd yup, they have them for your 97. HTH

Yea, I dont like mine much at all. Mostly due to the coating. The coating on them isnt much more than high temp paint and then when I called them to get some advice they basically told me I was screwed by their coating company and it was none of their concern.

The ground clearance is good except for right under the driver side floor board. It will bang when you shift gears, I havent been in a car with them yet that doesnt do that. I even dented the crap out of the structural brace under there that it was banging on and it didnt help.

Basically if all else goes smoothly the coating wont be as good as Jet hots, and it will bang the floor board. IMHO go spend $600 less on a set of Jet-hots new LTs. A friend of mine just got a set and they look SWEET!

I like mine, had them about a year and they still look new. Installed the whole kit in my garage. Yeah, I had to put a high performance dent in the floor to get rid of the banging. other than that you could upgrade to arp bolts and felpro gaskets. For a "kit" its the most bang for your buck, maybe you could order items separately and spend less, maybe not. When I was pricing headers a year ago by the time everything was there including emissions provisions I was better off with the FLP's.

Mine doesn't bang and the coating is still going strong (bought mine a couple years ago when they first came out). Have they changed coaters since then? Because they are very snug fitting to the undercarriage you really do need to put some effort into the install, don't expect to just throw them on and go. You might have to muscle some pipes but that's the price for good clearance, IMO. My initial crappy install did bang the floor but I remedied the problem quickly.

One thing I don't like is the Y-pipe that's necked down before the intermediate pipe... I'll be fixing this with a true dual exhaust when I have the time to fab it up. It probably isn't costing much power for most of our 'mild' engine combos, but I might be concerned with a large stroker and/or blower engine. I also think the other headers (Hooker & Jet Hot) might have closer to equal length primaries than FLP. The #6 primary is very close to the plug, I simply "made" a sparkplug socket that'd fit so not much of a problem, but plug acces in general isn't all that great. The metal used by FLP is thicker than the Hookers (not sure about Jet Hot).

They at first appear to be a bit pricey but not bad when you really look at the parts they come with. Both headers, AIR and EGR fittings, stainless band clamps, v-flange clamps, two cats, two OR pipes, gaskets, fasteners, Y-pipe, ceramic coating on everything except for the cats which are stainless. If you buy Hookers, coat them, add the fittings, buy the cats, etc. to match these the price gets closer. If you don't need all that stuff, can lose a bit more clearance, and can fab your own y-pipe (I couldn't at the time) than Hookers or Jet Hot are the way to go.

Since I didn't have the equipment to fab my own y-pipe, the local shops are incompetent, and I wanted cats and emissions fittings I have no regrets and the FLP's have done me well Now that I can fabricate my own pipes I might go with Jet Hot, depending on prices of cats, etc.

As you can see it really depends on what your wants and needs are.

Thumbs up

Like with most mods once you get the bugs out they are sweeeeet. I have them & now don't regret it for a minute. The car sounds great with the cats on & like a whole different animal with the offroads on. Ground clearence is good but as stated the drivers side bottom might need a mod with a hammer. My coating is still good but I do recomend getting smaller header bolts. The ones that come with the set up use a 7/16 wrench. I just ordered ones from ARP that use a 3/8 wrench which should make it a lot easier to get them bolted on. They are expensive but remember you get 2 high flow cats, 2 offroad pipes & Band Clamp with a Y pipe. All coated. Nice set up.

You can get them directly from FLP. www.flp2win.com
