Are you having a hard time tightening it or getting it in the hole? To tighten it, I'd try a standard wrench. That plug went in pretty easy for me, of course I did have the header unbolted when I did it.

I can get that one from the bottom pretty easily.I use the SLP cut off plug socket and one of those 3/4 " ratcheting wrenches(I love these wrenches). Start it by hand with the cut off socket then tighten it with the wrench.

The socket also needs to be drilled out so that it will slip onto the plug. It want be easy to do at home without a drill press and a cpouple of good bits.

Thumbs up

I'M TOLD THAT THE HOT TICKET TO THE SPARK PLUG ISSUE IS; REMOVE YOUR FRONT WHEELS, DRILL A 3/16 HOLE THRU THE FENDER WELL TO GET THE CENTERLINE OF THE PLUGS LINED UP, THEN USE A 1 1/4 DIA. HOLE SAW TO CUT A ACESS HOLE. RUBBER TYPE PLUGS ARE AROUND WHICH WILL SEAL THE HOLES. I'M ON THE HUNT FOR A SOURCE OF THESE PLUGS. ANYONE ELSE TRIED THIS ?

Did you get it? If not you can unscrew the end of the plug for a bit more room. I chose to get some accel shorties. It is tight. Wait till you see how close the boots will be to the primaries. Next time I do my plugs & wires I think it will take less time if I just unbolt my headers to back them off a bit to do them.
Good Luck

i have that exact same problem with my flp's with the pipe hitting the frame. unfortunately mine also leak because they didnt weld them correctly. so what i finally did is i just ate the cost and bought some MACs. as far as if i were to keep the headers i was told that you can take it into a good shop and they can dimple the pipe and cut some of that frame out and it wont hit anymore. that was just too much effort/money for me. good luck.

Interesting you mention this. When we did my FLP's we also installed ES motor mounts at the same time and I never encountered the banging problem. hmmm. Then when I did the heads and cam we didn't need to unbolt the mounts and raise the engine for clearance to remove the headers.

As for #5 I used the special plug socket that one of our CZ members fabricated about a year ago. Nice handy little tool. That socket and a 5/8" wrench and it came right out from the top. The toughest part was getting the plug to thread back into the head.
