Flowmaster vs. Hooker Cat-backs

Which would sound best behind Lt's and an ORY? I am getting LT's this winter, and I don't think the LM will be suitable, though I will try it out first before buying a new cat-back? Thanks

www.lt1engine.com

sounds clips of lt1's with various exhaust combinations

imo i would go with hooker... i had flowmasters on my car before (with stock manifolds and stock y-pipe) and i didnt like the sound very much. that and i heard that flowmasters are the worst flowing exhausts for the lt1

Depends on what series flowmaster youre talking about. The flowmaster catback (80 series) isnt a very nice piece IMO. I did however run a hooker catback for over a year and still have it in my garage in case i ever want to put it back on the car because i love the way it sounds. I took it off to put on a pair of dumped 40-series flowmasters.

I'm running midlengths with ORY, bullet muffler in place of cat, and the Hookre catback. Sounds incredible. Hooker catback, Hands down. Plus, it flows great.

Im running pacesetter long tubes, pacesetter offroad y pipe and a hooker cat back. Sounds pretty good to me. Not incredibly loud. It has a nice sound around 2500-3000 that appeals to me.

Out of those two? Hooker most definately...although I think magnaflow is the best bang for the buck.

ive seen a cam only ls1 pick up 18rwhp (from 352 to 370) but opening the cutout so the engine didnt have to exhale through its flowmaster 80 series catback. i was shocked. i have a 30 series, im gonna dyno it and see how it does. im sure i lose a couple of hp through it.
