Flexplate weights.....got ?'s

My new 355, A4 is internally balanced and I have the stock flexplate. It is vibrating and I know it is the cause from doing some searching and testing.

My questions are, Can you modify(remove the weights) on the flexplate to make it 0 balanced?

Can this be done carefully with the tranny in the car?

Are they tabs that are welded on easy to remove?

Has anyone done this?

TIA

Never done it in the car but I assume you could, the only thing is it will not be exactly neutrally balanced but it will be close. If you want it exact, the only way is to pull your stock one and either get in neutrally balanced or buy an aftermarket one that comes neutrally balanced.

Just removing the weight wont work. You will need to have it balanced after removing the weight. You will have to pull the trans for this. The easier thing to do is just buy a neutral balanced flexplate and put it in. Or pick up a used stocker and have it balanced before hand.

I have a stocker that was balaced you can have for $20 + shipping. It has a little rust tho but all the weights were removed and it was balanced.
