First time to the track w/ the new car

Well, I decided to test out the new car since the clutch is finally broke in. Our local track is a 1/8 mile, and tonight was test and tune night. I had a serious case of stage fright because there was alot of people there. I ran w/ the 17's on instead of throwing the DR's on as well so I didn' expect anything great. my 60 FT was horrible at a 2.6...I spun very bad and the launch was also weak. I ended up breaking something in the top end on the 2-3 shift and still managed a 8.91 @81.39. I even shifted early too. Are these ok numbers? I know they could be alot better w/ some DR's and without breaking the damn thing. What do you guys think tho?

Yea, your times should be way better than those. What hurt you was your 60'. IF you can get that down to a 2.1 or below you'll see a dramatic decrease in et and more mph. You also might want to think abouyt some gear as well.

Yeah, I know the 60ft was horrible. I think my trap would have been a good bit higher as well if I hadn't broke whatever I broke on the 2-3 shift. I pulled pretty slow after the shift. Like I said this is the first time out with the new car, and i didn't expect to do great...although I was hoping that nothing would break....so much for that!! I probably won't bother with gears until I do a new rear. Tonight was kinda just a base run to get to know the car. I have a nitrous kit that I will be installing soon once i get whatever broke fixed. BTW I have 3.42's now anyways, so its not horrible. If I get it fixed by next friday, and get the SFC's welded in, I will throw the DR's on and let you know if I do any better.
